Part 2, Conclusion
Conclusion
The novel closes with Eppie’s wedding.
It is held in the yard in front of the Rainbow.
The townspeople have gathered, and when the bridal party arrives, a great
cheer goes up. Eppie has a large
garden now, we’re told. The last
words are Eppie’s: “’Oh father,’” she says, ‘”what a pretty home
ours is! I think nobody could be
happier than we are.’”
