“The One with Rachel’s Assistant”
I think the new name for Friends should be "The Rachel and Phoebe
Show." They could live together, and every scene would be about them... Or
maybe Phoebe could be Rachel's assistant, and they meet all these cute guys
where they work…
That being said, I think you know where I think the rest of the characters
should go (a certain Creek about two states north of New York maybe?). They are
all becoming so annoying, Rachel and Phoebe are truly the only ones I want to
watch. Let me explain why…
In this week's episode, Joey's silly TV show "Mac and CHEESE"
finally makes its debut. The whole gang is once again forced to sit through it,
and then lie to him about how wonderful it is. Of course, Joey believes them.
Honestly, his whole dumb routine is beginning to get a little tired. Remember in
the fifth season, when Joey found out about Monica and Chandler, and we learned
that maybe he's not so dumb after all? I want that Joey back. He soon learns
that his show has been cancelled (surprise) but he's been asked to audition for
"Days of our Lives" again, playing the twin brother of his previous
role, Dr. Drake Ramorey.
Meanwhile, Rachel gets a promotion, and is allowed to hire her very own
assistant. Impressed with herself, because she has just conducted a successful
interview all by herself, Rachel is marveling at her desk when Mr. Hottie walks
into her office. Acting all cute and spacey as Rachel usually does when she's
flirting, she interviews him, and finds out that he's really stupid. However,
she makes him pose for Polaroids so she can show him off to all of her friends.
While all this is going on, Chandler sees Phoebe whisper something to Monica,
and immediately starts giving Monica a whole speech about how they shouldn't
keep secrets from one another. Monica convinces Chandler to tell her a stupid
story about Ross, and it turns out that her secret sucks, and yes she wins
again, because we all care. This starts a whole discussion between Ross,
Chandler and Monica to see who can uncover the most secrets about the other two.
The stupidities they come up with range from Monica eating the macaroni off a
jewelry box, to Chandler kissing a guy, which just isn't funny at all.
Finally, Rachel ends up hiring the cute, but stupid guy as her assistant, but
tells everyone he's gay so she can have him for herself. When he finally
confesses that he wants to ask Phoebe out, Rachel tells him that she's gay too.
Joey mistakes his audition for a chance to be automatically hired, and ends up
playing Drake in a coma, so you can't see his face. Monica and Chandler decide
that they absolutely need to have some secrets, in order to save their sanity.
Next week is the beginning of a sweeps month, which means Monica will
probably get pregnant (did you see the apron she was wearing, conveniently
covering her belly?), and some celebrities will make guest appearances.
